We traveled to Bundaburg for the Lady Musgrave Island excursion - that was amazing and completely worth the time. However, the town itself is a bit dated/boring - the only thing we really enjoyed were the bats at dusk.

There is so much fresh produce you can buy direct from the farmers. They sell on market place, when you get there they have an honor system. There is the bundaberg distillery, gin factory and if you want a nice meal you could try the Brothers Sports Club also grunskes restaurant they also sell fresh fish best prawns I've tasted in awhile. Also try the old bundy tavern they have great lunches and a cold beer to wash it down 😉

Great little town, very close to Great Barrier Reef (southern tip of the Reef is less crowded and is the best!) experience and boat to the fabulous Lady Musgrave Island. Plenty of places to eat and shop. Loved the trees full of colourful yapping birds in the town centre!

Lived in Bundaberg for many years before moving to the Sunshine coast in 2012 but we still come back too see family and friends as is such a beautiful place, though it is quite sad seeing the amount of homelessness there nowadays 😥 .

Bundaberg proved to be an interesting town to visit as it also has an attractive beach called Bagara only a few kms from the city. When you drive out to Bagara there are eateries there by the lovely blue green rocky coast and an amazing lookout up a hill on the right which gives a view over colourful farmland and cropping and over to the coast. The town of Bundaberg is a nice country street of shops with some interesting ones to look at. There is also the Bundaberg rum factory for a tour, and the ginger beer one. Plus a look at the sugar refining plant out by the port. We ate at the cafe out at Bagara but there were also other eateries such as a really lovely hotel with well priced lunch options and a fish and chip shop.

Bundaberg is a lovely regional town that has a few different activites you can either do in the region or can use Bundaberg as the access point to go to islands. With both coast and inland access, you can enjoy the beach and the farm! Safe to walk around and has everything you could need.
