The town is lovely, great places to eat and drink, lots of attractions and view points, short drives to many other places. I really enjoyed it. One thing i would mention, as we were caught out with this, the whole town stops serving food at 8pm, so you do have to choose between watching the sunset and eating.

Too much wrong. Not even close to enough right. Broken toilets, fans, lights, terrible seating, lack of outdoor furniture, cleanliness was atrocious, kitchen was filthy, bathrooms were filthy, parking was horrendous. No outdoor seating. Lack of care really by the responses of issues and never got the same person twice when contacting. Garden and outside area unkept, debris, boards with nails, garbage about. All and all....stay away!

Katoomba is a beautiful town with the obvious features of the Three Sisters but if you go for a day trip west towards Lithgow etc you can find quiet waterfalls and swimming holes all to yourself and more stunning views!

Katoomba is nestled in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Although it drizzled for much of the time we were there, the mist actually added real atmosphere to the brooding escarpments across the valley. A visit to the Blue Mountains is memorable in any season. Katoomba itself is well served by camping and adventure stores as well as Coles and Woolworths and several high quality cafes and restaurants. The Old Bank and the Carrington Hotel offer perhaps the finest cuisine and are right next to each other. The public bus is very efficient and the best way to get around but you can also use the Hop On Hop off bus or hire a car. All the most spectacular natural features are within a short drive.

The mountains welcome a mish mash of friendly locals, Sydney siders, tourists and backpackers to rest. We chose to walk the Govett’s leap to Evan’s lookout walk. Blue mountains sea food was a delicious treat. We used a combination of driving, buses and walking to get around.
